Our History
Gardening and a deep appreciation for the land have been woven into the fabric of the Piatek family for generations. Our founder's grandfather, in Poland, meticulously cultivated his own garden and peach orchard, passing down invaluable knowledge of plant care and cultivation to his son. When his son immigrated to the United States and settled there, he established his own landscaping business, initially focusing on a narrower scope of services, primarily lawn mowing and basic plant maintenance.
This legacy continued as the founder's father shared his accumulated wisdom with his own son – the future CEO of Mainline. From his teenage years, working seasonally and then full-time alongside his father, Michael Piatek absorbed the intricacies of the trade. However, he eventually felt a calling to explore a broader range of services and a fresh direction. This vision led him to establish his own venture, Mainline Lawn & Landscaping, building upon the family's deep-rooted expertise while forging a new path.
Laying the Foundation
Mainline Lawn & Landscaping was born. Michael began as a solo entrepreneur, meticulously serving residential clients in a focused area of Devon, PA. Services initially mirrored those of his father's company, centered on expert lawn mowing and essential turf care.
A Growing Team
Just one year later, a dedicated team member joined the company, working side-by-side with Michael. This individual has remained a valued part of the team for many years, contributing significantly to our growth and success.
Expanding Horizons
Recognizing the demand for more comprehensive services, the company was ready for growth. The team expanded to seven dedicated individuals, enabling Mainline to offer more extensive garden care, including mulching, skilled shrub and tree pruning, fertilization, and thorough seasonal cleanups.
Cultivating Creativity
This pivotal year marked our foray into landscape design. We began offering services not just for maintaining existing gardens, but for designing entirely new outdoor spaces from the ground up, or transforming them completely. This expansion, particularly in planting and seeding, allowed Michael to fully leverage the profound knowledge of trees and shrubs passed down from his grandfather, through his father, and now to him.
Strategic Growth
Our continued growth necessitated expansion. We invested significantly in new equipment and vehicles, broadening our operational reach and laying the groundwork for future development.
Year-Round Service
To better serve our clients through all seasons, we acquired snow removal equipment and began offering ice and snow removal services, ensuring properties remained safe and accessible even during winter.
Venturing into Commercial
Responding to increasing demand and a strategic vision, Mainline launched its commercial division, extending our expertise to businesses and larger properties.
Crafting Outdoor Living Spaces
We further diversified our offerings with the introduction of hardscaping and decking services. This includes the restoration and painting of existing wooden decks, as well as the design and installation of new, bespoke outdoor living areas.
Today and Beyond
Today, Mainline Lawn & Landscaping is a thriving company powered by a team of 19 dedicated professionals, organized into six specialized crews of 3-4 individuals. This structure ensures a superior division of labor, optimized workflow, and the capability to execute even the most intricate and ambitious projects. Our CEO, Michael, remains deeply involved, training his teams, allocating projects, collaborating closely with clients on their needs and designs, and meticulously overseeing every installation. His commitment to perfection from start to finish ensures exceptional results, profound client satisfaction, and unwavering trust, which remains a source of immense personal pride. This enduring dedication to excellence is a legacy that he hopes to traditionally pass on to his sons in the future.
